Kent
Gano, Vice President, Americas, of the World Hovercraft
Federation and former Vice President of the Hoverclub of
America has been an avid supporter of the racing program
since his first win in a novice race.
Kent
started his interest in hovercraft after his departure from
the United States Navy as an Ocean Technician (submarine
tracker). He began as a representative for Scat Hovercraft
in rescue hovercraft. Then beginning to race both Nationally
and Internationally, participating in almost every U. S.
race and races in England, Portugal, France and Germany.
Kent organizes the “Can-Am Hovercraft Racing Team”
for the World Hovercraft Championships in many countries.
Kent is one of the top racers in the United States winning
many trophies through the years.
Kent
is an Industrial Engineer specializing in control systems
and emissions reduction in power generation applications.
He is currently racing a Revtech Rocket, made in Australia.
He is also the Hoverclub of America’s Safety Officer.
Kent
believes that racing is the ultimate test for safety, engineering
and reliability for hovercraft. He believes that if a hovercraft
is built to withstand the extreme requirements of the racing
track, it can withstand almost anything.
