Kent Gano, Vice President, Americas, of the World Hovercraft Federation and former Vice President of the Hoverclub of America has been an avid supporter of the racing program since his first win in a novice race.

Kent started his interest in hovercraft after his departure from the United States Navy as an Ocean Technician (submarine tracker). He began as a representative for Scat Hovercraft in rescue hovercraft. Then beginning to race both Nationally and Internationally, participating in almost every U. S. race and races in England, Portugal, France and Germany. Kent organizes the “Can-Am Hovercraft Racing Team” for the World Hovercraft Championships in many countries. Kent is one of the top racers in the United States winning many trophies through the years.

Kent is an Industrial Engineer specializing in control systems and emissions reduction in power generation applications. He is currently racing a Revtech Rocket, made in Australia. He is also the Hoverclub of America’s Safety Officer.

Kent believes that racing is the ultimate test for safety, engineering and reliability for hovercraft. He believes that if a hovercraft is built to withstand the extreme requirements of the racing track, it can withstand almost anything.
