NOTICE - Before setting
out on any hovercraft cruise, we recommend you read through
this hovercraft cruise
safety document.
Nearly every weekend in the spring,
summer, and fall months members get out their hovercraft and
go enjoy what mother nature has to offer. For those who are
die-hard cruisers, you may even find them bundled up and tackling
the cold in the frigid winter months. Hovercrafting truely is
a sport for all seasons. Popular cruising
sites include:
The Wabash River to
Sugar Creek Cruise
This cruise
usually takes place in the spring and originates from Terre
Haute, IN and heads north about 40 miles up the Wabash River
to Sugar Creek. Sugar Creek flows through Turkey Run State Park,
where beautiful rock formations can be viewed. Cruisers typically
stop at the park and eat a fantastic buffet style lunch in the
park's lodge.

The resultant Fontana Lake extends about 25 miles in an east/west
direction at an elevation of 1710'. Most of the north shore
is within the bounds of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
All of the remaining lake area is within the Nantahala National
Forrest.
