10/6/11 -Meeting of the minds in Michigan October 25th!
You are invited to the first monthly Hovercraft enthusiasts. The meeting will be held locally at the Java House Cafe, on 25 October, 2011 from 7-9pm EST. Java House is located in South Lyon, at 11mile and Pontiac Trail.
The intent of this new meeting, is to bring all of the local hovercraft people together once a month and talk about hovercraft. In the months to come, we would like to take the meeting on-line through Skype, to have a national meeting with other HCA groups throughout the USA and the world.
The meeting will be a casual event, the aim is to bring together all the existing talent we have in the South Lyon area, and start introducing us to the new folks who have contacted me with interest in building or learning about hovercrafts. South Lyon High School and Howell High School have recently been interested in our machines. It would be fantastic to have both students and instructors join us, to learn about the machines and the club.
Provided this time works for enough folks, it will be reoccurring on the 4th Tuesday of every month.
Please pass this on to any additional interested person you might know who would like to join us.

11/07/11 - Hovercraft quilt to be raffled for fund raiser
Club member Cassie Wilkins is hand crafting a "Hovercraft Quilt". The goal is to raffle it off and present it to the winner at 2012 Hoverally.
Here is the picture we took of the HoverQuilt 2011. Of course it is hung up sideways here on our RV awning. I still have to "sandwich" it together with the back and the batting, it will look so much better with the "quilting" and then I will be finishing up the edges by hand. It will be a very nice quilt/blanket for many years of use. The size is approx 66" by 96", so as you can see, a nice size.
