11/7/15 - Hoverclub member John Sturgeon's case heads to the Supreme Court. John's message:
"Hovercraft case going to the U.S. Supreme Court. Hovercraft are banned in all national parks and preserves. This applies even when you are driving it in a navigable river which is owned by the state, in my case the state of Alaska. I don't think there has every been another hovercraft case go to the U.S. Supreme Court. I lost at the 9th Circuit level but the SC has accepted my case and it has over turned the 9th about 80-90 % of the time. So I have some reason to be optimistic. This case has been in the courts since 2008. A long and expensive haul. The trip to the U.S. Supreme Court is an expensive one. As a long time member of the Hovercraft Club I could use some support from my fellow members. This is a 100% public interest case. I did not get a citation. I've attached a link to a short video that explains the case and the need for help. Thanks for the help." John Sturgeon - H6717
