Lake Erie Lighthouse Poker Run Ice Cruise

This is a fun cruise over frozen Lake Erie in the Toledo Harbor.  To get an idea about this cruise, see the story in the May/June 2015 issue of Hovernews titled "Saving Toledo Harbor Lighthouse"

We will Launch from the DNR boat launch and head to Turtle Island which is approximately 4-5 miles out. We will explore the abandoned house and Lighthouse at Turtle Island, then onto to the Toledo Harbor Lighthouse which is approximately 4-5 miles out from Turtle Island. After that we will cruise over to Luna Pier, Michigan which is approximately 8 miles from the lighthouse. We will have lunch or dinner in Luna Pier. The restaurant is about a half mile walk from the landing zone.

Each participant will be receiving 1 playing card at each of the destinations (Turtle Island) (Lighthouse) (Luna Pier).  Upon return at the DNR launch site each participant will show their cards, receive 2 more cards face up. The person with the "highest" poker hand wins 1st prize. There will be 3 total "prizes" -- awarded in order from best hand on down.
Be sure to dress appropriately for cold weather conditions.  The event is weather dependent, Please contact us a day or 2 before the event to make sure it's on.

If coming from the NORTH, take southbound 75, exit 2 (Summit street) and turn left onto Algonquin.
If coming from the SOUTH, take northbound 75, take the 209 or 210 exits, and make your way over to Summit street north (US 24), turn right onto Algonquin.
Go to the end of Algonquin and you will arrive at the DNR launch parking lot. We will plan to meet and launch around 11am.
