Fall 2026 Chilson Pond Races

Located approximately 50 miles west of Detroit, this is the annual Fall hovercraft races held on Chilson Pond at the Brighton State Recreation Area! Come enjoy the beautiful Spring Michigan weather and some fast-paced hovercraft action!

Non-racing hovercraft are encouraged to attend as well. Limited cruising and rides available.

Friday

(3:00p - 6:00p) - Race Site Setup

Saturday

(9:30a - 12:00p) - Registration & Safety Inspections

(11:00a - 11:30a) - Drivers Meeting (required to race)

(11:30a - 12:00p) - Practice Session

(12:00p - 1:00p) - Lunch Break

(1:00p - 5:00p) - Racing Session (at least 3 heats of racing)

(6:00p - 7:00p) - Dinner and Awards

Sunday

(10:00a - 10:30a) - Drivers Meeting

(12:00p - 2:00p) - TBD Race by drivers

(2:00p) - Race Site Teardown

Overnight Accommodations

Camping - BISHOP LAKE CAMPGROUND is nearby and about 2 miles to the east of the race site and is expected to be available for our event after two years of construction upgrades.
