Beautiful Muscoda, Wisconsin - one of the most anticipated events of the year!

HCA member Doug Birlingmair(#6060) organizes 2 events every year in beautiful Muscoda, WI.

About the Event:
Muscoda, Wi., (pronounced Mus-co-DAY) is one of the best HoverIn locations in the Midwest United States. Located on the Wisconsin River, the area is known for its many river sandbars, abundant wildlife, and friendly public. HoverIns at Muscoda draw hovercrafters from not only the surrounding states, but also from Texas, Alaska, the East Coast, and even the Netherlands!

Muscoda is a non-sanctioned enthusiasts’ gathering, and is great event for a person new to hovercrafting to attend. Number of craft at Muscoda range from 15-30, so one will see many different types – commercially built craft, homebuilts, custom designs, racing craft, etc.

There are two events held at Muscoda – a Spring HoverIn, and the Pendelton Memorial at Muscoda, a summer/fall event named in honor of an avid hovercrafter who lost his battle with cancer. Both are held at the Victoria Riverside Park Campground and Boat Launch.

The Wisconsin river is renown for its fabulous sandbars and abundant wildlife. Eagle spotting is a popular sport for cruisers and canoers alike. The endless sandbars offer plenty of opportunity for rest stops and a relaxing atmosphere to just sit and soak up the sun with your friends. It's also a great place to teach youngsters how to operate a hovercraft for the first time.

Please note: Due to the sensitive wildlife area along the river, and often heavy canoe traffic, participants are asked to be mindful of sound levels.

Schedule of Events:
There are no “formal” events. There may be a “scavenger hunt” type of activity, or a “skills course”, but these change from year to year. Muscoda is held over a weekend, and Saturday evening there is usually a potluck cookout in the park shelter, where everyone is welcome.

Lodging Information:
Contact Doug Birlingmair for a list of motels and campgrounds in the area. Camping at Victoria Riverside Park requires advance reservations. To make a campsite reservation contact Beverly McGuire by email or phone (608) 739-4094
